MESSE10: Allen & Heath Patchbay for DJs

For Well-Connected DJs      02/04/10

No flash plug

2:19 mins

Way back in a previous lifetime, I used to wire up professional recording studios, so I've seen a good few patchbays... usually from the hectic side behind the front panel, but to be fair, it's not really an item you expect to see on prominent display at a music trade fair... usually the kinda thing kept hidden away on a top shelf somewhere... the dirty secret behind the scenes ;-]

So I was a bit surprised to see one in full frontal display in the DJ section of the Allen & Heath stand in Hall 8.
But it makes sense - I mean, DJs have loads of wires and connections to handle too - why not offer them something to make dealing with it a whole lot easier?

Richard Brace gives us the skinny...

cool - at last!

so who's going to be the first DJ mixer manufacturer to put an ADAT or MADI connector on their mixer...? would seem a lot simpler, lol.
