Sad news from MickKarn.net - Mick Karn has been diagnosed with advanced stages of cancer, however, he is undergoing treatment which we all hope will be successful. As a result, an appeal has been set up to help fund  further treatment and to help support him and his family whilst there is so much uncertainty.
Donations can me made directly, or if you prefer, there are some images from Steve Jansen from when Japan where still active available for purchase. All funds will go to Micks appeal fund.

For those of you who unfamiliar with Mick Karn - he is one of the seminal bass players from the 1980's era of fretless bass, famous for his use of the Wal Bass and someone who I can easily say has a truly unique style and sound. His lyrical approach to playing resulted in some of the most beautiful and striking lines both with Japan, particularly on the classic album Tin Drum, but also in his solo work after the group split.

Midge Ure is organizing a fund-raising concert, scheduled for August 31st 2010. Support is growing with details to be announced.

Please give generously.
