Recording Power Tools Through Guitar Amps

An Unusual Approach To Sound Design      27/07/10

Here's an unusual example of sound design using electric guitars.

Sound designer Mike Niederquell recorded power tools through a guitar pickup that was then sent through a Marshall stack.

The resulting sounds were edited and used for many of the transformations and servo sounds in the video game Transformers: War for Cybertron.

EVH did this in Poundcake off of For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. Paul Gilbert has done this too. But hey, power tool, les paul, marshall, does it get any better?
