Audio Impressions, Inc. tell us that they have officially released their 70 DVZ Strings orchestral sample library. Here's what they have to say about it...
70 DVZ Strings lets you control everything from a single intuitive user interface. One-click loads everything. You no longer have to interrupt your creative workflow to search through deep file menus, find the sounds you need, then wait an eternity for them to load. Clicking individual buttons recalls comprehensive factory or user presets.
70 DVZ Strings features real-time, continuously-adjustable articulations and styles without stopping to load or unload alternate samples. It offers "must-have" controllability that ordinary sample libraries cannot approach, such as a Collective Controller that allows you to go from legato through marcato using any continuous MIDI controller. You can continuously vary the bow position up and down, side to side, and even where each of the strings cross over as the left hand moves up the neck. Or, you can leave everything in auto mode and just play.
70 DVZ Strings is recorded with 32 separate desks: 10 solos and 22 desks of two or more players that add up to the total of 70 players. You can instantly size the orchestra to your project without loading or unloading predetermined ensemble sizes.
Audio Impressions is the first company in the world to use Chris Stone's patented real-time divisi process, DVZ®. DVZ overcomes the unnatural "organ" sound that characterizes conventional string sample libraries. The DVZ process automatically divides chords being played and distributes them in real-time to the number of players you've selected, keeping the number of players constant no matter how many notes are in a chord. This totally eliminates the unrealistic sound power build-up caused by the same samples being multiplied again and again. 70 DVZ Strings offers much finer orchestral balances than libraries that only have predetermined sampled sections that must be turned into divisi sections manually.
Chris Stone's patented SPACE™ process puts the final touch on 70 DVZ Strings. SPACE simulates the interactive sound bleed of all players into all room and spot mics on the stage for that same sense of "ensemble" playing you get with live recordings. You can place the desks anywhere on the virtual floor, and you'll hear distinctly different sounds appropriate to those placements. Go from a completely dry sound by favoring the spot mics or get a wider sound by favoring the room mics. Bring players closer to the front or spread them out. 70 DVZ Strings' 32 separately recorded desks in combination with SPACE gives you unparalleled control to establish your own acoustic signature.
70 DVZ Strings is powered by Native Instruments' included Kontakt 4.1 Player and runs on one readily-available Intel Core® i7 computer with 8 GB RAM and dual hard drives. Audio Impressions is selling 70 DVZ Strings in the US and Canada through their website. Turnkey systems are available through select resellers. Please check the Audio Impressions website for updated information.
70 DVZ Strings bundles together Audio Impressions patented DVZ Core Engine and patented SPACE software. You can avoid the cost and sonic impact of audio cards by adding audio-over Ethernet connectivity between 70 DVZ Strings and your sequencer (with Audio Impressions' AudioPort Universal along with jStuff's jBridge) for under $150.
70 DVZ Strings is a library designed for ultimate speed and versatility. As Chris Stone puts it, "I designed 70 DVZ Strings to be the sports car of string libraries, to respond instantly to subtle input and go from 0 to 70 players in under six seconds."
