Here's the SAE press release...
In just 12 months SAE Online has established itself as the 'go-to' online resource for those wanting to further their skills in a wide range of creative fields. SAE Online is now set to increase the options available to the online community with new courses announced for 2010.
SAE Online essentially brings all of the benefits of an SAE education directly to any student, anywhere in the world, with just a computer and internet connection. Students can augment their skills with a range of short courses in a range of disciplines – including audio, music and film production, music business and marketing, animation, web design or games programming (courtesy of sister college Qantm) – with SAE Online courses specifically tailored to meet the demands of employers in the creative media world.
Now SAE Online has expanded the range of courses on offer, making the choice bigger than ever before! Among these new short courses – there are now over 30 to choose from – are Mixdown Techniques 101 and Cubase 101. Both courses are tailored for those wanting to get the most out of their music production environments.
  • Cubase 101 has been developed in conjunction with software developer Steinberg and sets out to get students up and running with one of the world's most popular music production packages. They will learn all about recording, editing and music production within Cubase, as well as more advanced techniques to ensure better mixes and creative integration of effects. Cubase 101 is a four-week course requiring about 10 hours of input from students each week.
  • Mixdown Techniques 101 is the perfect overview to successful mixing 'in the box'. It takes students through all of the important steps of a complete mixdown procedure in their favourite DAW – be it Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase etc. Mixing Techniques 101 is a four-week course requiring about 10 hours of input from students each week.
More about SAE Online short courses:
Whether students want to advance their hobby, start a career or learn about new techniques and software, the SAE Online short courses are now available to anyone with an internet connection, no matter where they are based.
SAE Online short courses are intense four-week programs and would typically require about 10 hours a week, including theory reading, practical assignments, (online) research, tests, peer interaction and group sessions. In many courses students get opportunities to connect live at certain times using live chat, Skype or other methods.
Learning Advisors act as online lecturers. All Learning Advisors are experienced SAE lecturers or industry professionals and, in most cases, the Learning Advisor has developed the SAE Online short course based on years of teaching and professional experience. More information about the Learning Advisor for a particular course can be found on the course information page.
Students can opt for one of the shorter courses (four weeks), augment existing skills with more advanced courses that take them further into their chosen discipline, or even study up to Masters level in association with London-based Middlesex University. The courses are also available in a growing number of languages – so far students can choose to learn in English, Spanish, German or Italian.
About SAE Online:
SAE Institute is already the largest network of creative media schools on the planet, but not everyone can study at one of their 50 bricks-and-mortar institutes around the world, which is why SAE Online was created. SAE Online offers a more flexible way to learn for students who are either too busy or not close enough to attend.
SAE Online only launched in 2009, but in that time has already established itself as the world's largest network of online tuition for anyone wanting to unravel and learn about a wide range of creative media – be that audio, music and film production, music business and marketing, animation, web design or games programming. In the short time it's been running SAE Online has seen enrolments increase by up to 500%.
