The Kemper Digital Profiling amp.
We discovered that it does not actually contain an amplifier, more like a pre-amp. There may be a future model that also contains an amp component, but for now, its purely preamp and profiling.
In this demo, watch the profiling amp listen to, and learn the sound of a tube amp. The output then switches between the tube amp and the profiling amp, the similarity is striking.

PRICE?! Man I'd take this thing to like the boutique guitar store down the street and "steal" all their amp sounds :P

A thread on thegearpage.net said someone was claiming $1499. If so.. that's impressive.

The amp modelling part is probably based on convolution using impulse response (a la altiverb or waves q-clone). It is just a matter of time that somebody puts the same idea in software only format as a VST. So you could do exactly the same thing but with you laptop and a regular soundcard.
The amp picking and gain feature is indeed nice added touch to the unit. And it looks great too. One of the nicest design of this year Namm.
