Andre 3000 To Star As Jimi Hendrix On Screen

Actress Hayley Atwell, the co-star of the upcoming Captain America film, told Esquire magazine that her next film might see her starring alongside rapper Andre 3000 in a Jimi Hendrix biopic. Andre 3000 would take the main role as Hendrix.

Apparently, Andre has been pushing for this project for several years.

Seven years ago, the Outkast rapper made clear to the New York Daily News that he was excited about portraying Hendrix's persona: "Jimi was wild onstage," he said. "Offstage, he was really calm."

Laurence Fishburne and Lenny Kravitz have also put themselves in the race for the lead role, but securing the rights to the film will involve gaining the permission of Janie Hendrix, Jimi's stepsister, who manages Experience Hendrix.
