64-bit, more patches, no upgrade charge 19-Jul-11

Mr U-He sent us a note to let us know that the new version of Zebra 2.5.1 (Mac/PC) is now available.

The Zebra synth has been held in high esteem by many serious synthesists for its massive creative potoential and routing possibillities. Howard Scarr - who works with on many major films with Hans Zimmer used it on a lot of Dark Knight and Inception sound duties.

(Check out our interview with Howard).

New Features

adds more than 70 new factory presets (Howard Scarr)

adds a bunch of Zebrify presets (Tasmodia)

includes completely new, well-structured manuals

adds two new spectral effects (Phase Distortion and Wrap)

includes native 64-bit support for Mac AU and VST Win

adds Cocoa view to AU version

loud spikes while switching presets now eliminated

improved timing stability for swing (affects LFOs and arpeggiator)

improved timing for MSEGs

improved CPU usage for RTAS (Mac) version

RTAS (Mac) now supports ctrl+alt+cmd+click (“3-finger salute”) automation

DoDoDJZ 27-Dec-11 07:02 PM

i'm currently on zebra 2, it sounds amazing, but the cutoff filter (with envelope) is really week compared to that of sylenth1, sylenth1 tho can't generate such awesome sounds as zebra. is there anyway i can sort of rewire the two devices and apply sylenth1 filter on zebra waveform? or maybe the new filter in zebra 2.5 is as awesome as sylenth1? anyone? :)

TheBandwagonman 06-Nov-11 12:28 AM

Keep it up! We need more devs like you so modern music can keep evolving!

NielsShoe 22-Jul-11 04:38 PM

I'm unemployed and I used the demo till I saved up for it. Best synth ever.

UrsHeckmann 09-Jun-11 09:19 AM

No, Zebra doesn't have a virtual keyboard. There are many plug-in hosts though which provide such.

carsonmccallie 09-Jun-11 12:50 AM

does this have a virtual keyboard on it?

GoreSmasher 30-Apr-11 04:50 AM

Hi. Tell me how I can steal your product. Kidding. You're brilliant. I hope to buy this eventually.

FonkyLynx 27-Apr-11 10:07 PM

Brilliant work Urs! Big up for Zebra...bob

djcondra 22-Apr-11 10:39 PM

Once you get comfortable using Zebra, you will rarely use any other synth.

arminwerzi 22-Apr-11 08:12 AM

ty Urs usefull :)

UrsHeckmann 21-Mar-11 05:32 PM

That totally eludes me as well... it might be related to being a crack user.

vstman 21-Mar-11 08:56 AM

That's pretty fucked up to be honnest! I mean why do they even bother posting such crap anyways? They should stop drinking beers and paying for hoes and they would have enough money to get this beast.

Xtra999 20-Mar-11 08:40 PM

This is really funny. I mean, this is the YT channel from the dev of this plugin and some stupid idiots ask for serials and cracks.

vstman 17-Mar-11 08:52 AM

Hi Urs! Lovely synth this one. This still is one of my WTB plugins, but that will have to wait until I got the money though.

djlongdistance 02-Mar-11 12:26 AM

WOW!!! that's on a whole new level of crude,

This is one of the only few synths worth every single penny.

It doesn't cost that much and the kicker is it wont crash your DAW every 30 seconds!

JonathanAschalew 12-Feb-11 09:16 PM

thank you for that great laugh.. classic! lol

UrsHeckmann 08-Jan-11 10:15 PM

Team ASSIGN did what many think was a crack. If you look into the usual forums you'll notice that there are many complaints about the "quality" of the crack. It works for testing though, but I wouldn't dare to start a production.

UrsHeckmann 08-Jan-11 10:48 AM

You crack me up. I'm the copyright holder in case you hadn't noticed. But to answer your question: There is no working crack.

UrsHeckmann 07-Jan-11 10:53 PM

Yes, and also parallel.

UrsHeckmann 05-Nov-10 02:18 PM

Try u-he.com

7daan7 05-Nov-10 02:06 PM

Can you tell me where to get this Zebra?

HD41117 24-Jul-10 03:39 AM

My God that's gorgeous.

maccagrabme 31-Mar-10 08:05 PM

This actually sounds like real analog, its amazing and I didn't think possible but they have done it.

S2KKuPeR 23-Mar-10 04:42 AM

(Using Windows 7) Just tried to install the demo but all it extracts is a heap of .dll files, there doesn't seem to be an exe file in there, what's the deal ?

1stfirstperson 28-Jan-10 04:35 PM

omg, this is indeed far beyond expectations :) congrats Urs! btw absynth is also a great softsynth,it can be used for particular tasks, but with zebra almost everithyng is tweakable :D

NielsShoe 19-Jan-10 03:26 AM

Just Tried Zebra 2.5 demo after all the other VSTI demos it's the only one that doesnt sound like sound samples it sounds like it's playing from something better than a Korg hardware synth.

Glisevask 10-Jan-10 02:06 AM

That's the nastiest, freakiest filter i've ever heard in a softsynth! Zebra is really a go-to softsynth that everyone should have in theire collection. To bad i don't have the money to buy it myself! =P

papaginou 30-Dec-09 06:44 PM

Urs... what can I say? ... This is BEYOND RIDICULOUS!!!! ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!! It's amazing, but you still manage to keep improving on what easily be considered the best synth out there... Man, It'll take years to really get all the sonic potential of this wonderful beast!! THAAAANKS SOOOO MUCH!! YOU'RE A GENIUS!!!!

F1Filter 05-Dec-09 11:39 PM

This is such an AWESOME synth. Cant wait for 2.5 :-)

UrsHeckmann 25-Nov-09 08:50 AM

Somewhen between 5th and 15th of December 8-)

dana6156 25-Nov-09 07:29 AM

When is 2.5 coming out?

Fantastico07 09-Nov-09 11:06 PM

Crazyyyyy im lookin forward to that !

shairaptor 22-Oct-09 06:57 PM

I know... he used it on Dark Knight a lot afaik... but I can like both Absynth and Hans Zimmer at the same time, now can I? :) I didn't say Zebra 2 is bad or something. Calm down and relax :P :)

UrsHeckmann 22-Oct-09 06:32 PM

You favourite the Hans Zimmer interview and diss Zebra? That doesn't work together... Zebra is Hans' favourite softsynth

shairaptor 22-Oct-09 06:09 PM

Absynth is better

dragonsagoth666 20-Oct-09 10:22 AM

I'm not impressed by omnisphere, massive, predator, gladiator.

But Zebra and z3ta are freaking excellent!

DoDoDJZ 11-Oct-09 10:55 PM

damn, i've just tried out zebra 2.3 demo and i gotta say it's better than all the "massive"s "atmosphere"s and "predator"s put rogether. it's powerful like sylenth1 only ten times more tweakable! why people won't mention it when talking abut best soft synths today. everybody only talks about omnisphere, z3ta, massive and gladiator :?

davidvector 05-Oct-09 12:38 AM

The new filters are a beautiful thing indeed. :-)

narfy 20-Sep-09 04:05 AM

LOL

canecreek00 16-Sep-09 07:57 AM

Great stuff Urs i'm looking forward to the release

pedx1ng 16-Sep-09 12:06 AM

It screams!

sc4kdjmo 10-Sep-09 07:38 PM

bbagginz 10-Sep-09 07:12 PM
