The interface reminds me of my old EMX1.

I wonder if it will get custom hardware like the NI Maschine?

Looks like the new Dave Smith Tempest without the best part of it (the hardware). How many computer based drum machines do we really need.

- Our PC is always on! :) BTW: Even hardware needs to boot up these days.

MaartenHaase 24-Oct-11 08:05 AM

hmm a special groove machine midi controller? That would be cool, but then you'll always have to bootup your pc before you can jam..

imageline 24-Oct-11 04:33 AM

- While not necessary, in concept you are meant to Groove Machine with a controller.

MaartenHaase 23-Oct-11 09:51 AM

@imageline , but in the end, i heard great things coming frome groove machine. for sure: i will never use it.. principial against it. But some of the demo songs on your site are great.. proficitiat. Maybe this is also a good plugin to get people warm for the hardware, but now they got a great change to see what'a groovebox does and how it works. About sound: not the best of the best but not bad. But to have a groovebox on your screen? thats more like playing guitar on an I-pad;)

MaartenHaase 23-Oct-11 09:46 AM

Hmm,, in that case.. you're right. but even the mc 909 is not that expensive. I own the mc 307 and mc 303: 125 euros each.. And software can never beat them.. for example.. take the kicks from the 303 and record it on tape. Can your software create the same deep and full sound? Hmmm..

imageline 23-Oct-11 09:31 AM

- There's nothing 'cheap' about hardware with the capabilities of something like Groove Machine, you would be looking at $1500 to $2000 retail.

MaartenHaase 22-Oct-11 11:24 AM

This is for me the deepest and saddest point in the Vst-industry. It almost made me cry:P.... Why a groovebox as a plugin? The reason of using a real groovebox is that you don't have to turn on the pc.. The Pro's of DAW's are the technically great options for finetuning.. what made the music so unhuman made last years with all that thousand dollars of vsti's.

Let the groovebox the groovebox.. and why not go cheap and buy a real groovebox, instead of hooking up an expensive middicontrollers?

basswerkrec 12-Oct-11 11:39 PM

is there an option to include the samples with the presets?

imageline 12-Oct-11 09:01 PM

- Yes you can save Synth and Sampler presets.

basswerkrec 12-Oct-11 08:47 AM

can it also save the samples with the presets/programs?

basswerkrec 12-Oct-11 08:45 AM

ah, cool, it looked like the filters are only per sample slot, not per layers. great!

imageline 12-Oct-11 04:11 AM

- Groove Machine reads WAV and AIF files. You can do what you like with them in an external editor and just drop them on a sampler channel. There are 9 independent controls per-layer - Mix & Pitch, Envelope (AHD), Lowpass and Highpass filters.

basswerkrec 11-Oct-11 11:10 PM

yes, but if i layer lets say 4 drumsamples in a sample slot, i d like to apply for example a highpass on one sound, a low pass on another. geist can do that. it would be less important if groove machine cant if it was able to do resampling or sending files to an external sample editor i think

imageline 11-Oct-11 11:04 PM

- It is a multi-output plugin. You can treat the 8 sampler and 5 synth channels externally IN ADDITION to the 10 independent FX per channel. Download the demo and try it out.

basswerkrec 11-Oct-11 09:41 PM

will it be able to do resampling? cause otherwise being not able to set filters for each layered sound is more a limitation. fx pansion geist can do resampling and has more effects + much more routing (for example effects per layer + effects per sample pad), but its more a drum thing and not good in playing instruments

TheSenileFeline 07-Oct-11 08:54 PM

That CRSH setting is beautiful.

imageline 26-Sep-11 06:20 AM

- The instructions are on the link associated with the video. It's just a standard VST install. Check the manual.

jdud12399 25-Sep-11 11:36 PM

can you plz make a video on how to install it i followed the steps and it didnt work plz help

Tranceislands 16-Sep-11 05:32 AM

MOnsta!

Reggmail 08-Sep-11 11:53 AM

How much would this be in US dollars?

filipecroaro 08-Sep-11 05:42 AM

Y U NO MAKE THIS A STANDALONE HARDWARE?

ThePencil901 30-Aug-11 10:57 PM

2:51 sounds like a good song that could be made

cyborgste 30-Aug-11 10:22 PM

I want this. Also at 1:23 I love the drum sample effect!

PDrizzle4shizzle 30-Aug-11 06:06 PM

You just made my day :) Lol.

imageline 24-Aug-11 05:58 AM

- Why not ask in the Looptalk thread dedicated to beta-testing?

bigdee19144 24-Aug-11 03:51 AM

Why can't i load the drums ?

lolypopboy777 23-Aug-11 08:38 PM

i have it, and it is AWESOME! ∞∞∞∞∞

ZeroOneChannel 23-Aug-11 11:10 AM

LukeDarko 21-Aug-11 11:01 PM

Fruityception

gumdrops27 19-Aug-11 11:26 PM

slizzer416 15-Aug-11 06:41 AM

Hey everybody.. i am a unsigned ToronTo arTisT who had just released an amazing track with a touch of Raquel J all made on FL Studio of course.. i would really appreciate it if anyone were to check it out.. THANK YOU!! watch?v=5JhW8d9__tE

TheNoCoincidence 14-Aug-11 03:31 PM

they dont have wav support i think,..so what u say is not right

TheNoCoincidence 14-Aug-11 03:26 PM

WAV Support?

imageline 13-Aug-11 06:44 AM

- Yes you can use it just like any VST plugin synth,

AcerHyperspace 13-Aug-11 04:32 AM

Is this also suitable for studio use? Can all of its parameters be automated by a DAW?

AcerHyperspace 13-Aug-11 04:28 AM

Make tons of awesome sounding presets, loops and patterns, and I would definitely nab this instead of Rob Papen's Punch for my drum synth!!! It's more than just a drum synth as well!!!

djisomatic 11-Aug-11 04:42 PM

@imageline Please tell me they're currently developing a hardware version of this! I'd spend big bucks on one

aikighost 11-Aug-11 11:38 AM

The interface reminds me of my old EMX1.

Will this be getting custom hardware like NI maschine?

Rotemetoot 09-Aug-11 06:53 AM

A sequencer in a sequencer can actually increase your workflow I think...

So for us this gives us a small feeling of: "hey my baby brother gets more attention".

But if a sequencer works for the vst it's good, simple as that...

synapticflow 07-Aug-11 11:02 PM

Ah, I thought this was a hardware piece for just a second.

bocskai98 07-Aug-11 07:55 PM

You can use FL for mastering, playing on VST synths, automating effects, add some audio clips that wouldn't fit the GM and a lots of other things that i cannot comprehend right now. GM is very good for live performances. BUT if you wanna make some complex work, you will use the DAW as before.

potzynoodle 06-Aug-11 08:26 AM

Maybe this would be better for the iPad instead of FL Mobile? Scott - do you have any plans to port this over to the iPad2?

BlackGnosis 05-Aug-11 11:09 PM

It'd be so awesome if there was a dedicated controller to operate this with like maschine and what not, in before emx/esx/random groove box recommendation.

BlackGnosis 05-Aug-11 11:07 PM

Want ;-;

djsixtysix523 05-Aug-11 08:27 PM

You can always use FL in many ways to make up infinite grooves with limitless possibilities, but if you are like a lot of people, you don't have all day to mess around setting up every plugin and adjusting settings and routing mixers and setting up effects. What this does is helps you come up with ideas even faster. Maybe you'll use it right out of the groove machine, maybe not. Maybe you'll just play with it until you find an idea you like, then re-make it in FL..

+1 x100 IL!

PoxIndustries 05-Aug-11 07:22 PM

this is awesome!

bocskai98 05-Aug-11 12:28 PM

how much will it cost? you should make a hardware replica the MIDI way. Without it, it will never be perfect for use, specially with keyboards. So, please get in touch with some MIDI manufacturer!

bocskai98 05-Aug-11 12:24 PM

Yes, live perf. I have been waiting for this for some time.

1314matt 05-Aug-11 10:14 AM

OMG, wow! Best drum machine VST I've ever seen! I thought Spark would be the best nowadays and now this! :O
