2000 Dollars just to make a bunch of sounds...LOL

VYD239 14-May-12 04:00 PM

'Open the pod bay doors please Roger'.

'I'm afraid I can't do that, Dave'.

pquezada 04-May-12 01:02 AM

at 1:38, above the screen there is 4 Snobs? that explains why this thing is so freaking expensive hahaha.

ELotion 15-Apr-12 11:54 AM

Aqua Generators.

WavestrikeIDM 29-Mar-12 02:38 PM

I have a NI Maschine. After watching this, I can see the vast superiority in sound and ease of use of the Tempest. I am selling my Maschine immediately (and sellilng a few other things) to afford this fantastic creation.

MrCumstein 20-Mar-12 10:06 AM

Coolest drum machine ever.

PooPooOnMyNewShoe 20-Mar-12 01:21 AM

lol. happy trees, happy drum machine..:)

1vootman 17-Mar-12 05:15 PM

It's not expensive. If you think about how many digital mpc's you have to buy in a lifetime to keep up with the upgrades in technology, it would easily double the price of a Tempest. Analog will always be analog, now and 10 years from now it will sound good. It's my favorite bit of gear in my studio right now...buy one!

djmined 16-Mar-12 09:35 PM

can you make your own jungle tracks with this? or is it just more of a techno drum machine? thanks!

FromPoetryToRap 09-Mar-12 11:28 PM

to each their own indeed. if people would like a standalone instrument though, (this mostly counts for hiphop producers), cheaper than this instrument, is the BeatThang. Doesn't even need a power cable, any keyboard can be connected to it, does everything, probably even more than the Tempest. They both good though!

lazerfaceband 09-Mar-12 04:10 AM

you're missing the point, to some people, a standalone instrument is far more appealing than something that has to be attached to a potentially unstable laptop. Plus, it has vintage style analog oscs, analog filters, analog distortion etc AND digital oscs, it's the real thing - not an emulation like maschine. I have a Tempest now, worth every single penny IMO but to each their own!

FromPoetryToRap 08-Mar-12 05:35 PM

needs a laptop indeed, which most people already have?

lazerfaceband 06-Mar-12 11:29 PM

It needs a laptop, factor that in and it basically costs the same or more. This is standalone and for a lot of people the appeal comes from the fully featured inbuilt analog synth

FromPoetryToRap 06-Mar-12 08:41 PM

I'm gonna listen to this everytime before I go to sleep..damn

FromPoetryToRap 06-Mar-12 08:40 PM

ever heard of Maschine? can do more than this thing and costs less

MarkoDeLaVoota 27-Feb-12 05:24 PM

Eeeeeeeeeeexpensive like it's made out of gold !

lazerfaceband 17-Feb-12 02:24 AM

its actually super cheap for what it is. There is nothing comparable in this price range, the Jomox 999 is the same price but it's features are laughable compared to this..

WuTangBoneThugs 07-Feb-12 05:14 AM

I will pay the full $2000 and maybe even extra if you throw in some kind of way to get a nice voice like yours.

PLASMA22280 06-Feb-12 11:50 AM

amazing groove box but with the current price no one will buy it....

squeakD 31-Jan-12 02:03 AM

This drum machine is amazing.., but sweet Jesus why is the price so high? I can't imagine your production costs per unit being anywhere near the street price. It's a great unit.., but I think you guys priced it out of reach for a lot of people.

soundmanhaven1 10-Jan-12 10:09 PM

16x 16x time 16 time lol

021kdu 10-Jan-12 01:31 PM

roger 2013...mpc 3000 is 20 years old anniversary ! give us a present mister linn

FreestyleLilWayne 22-Dec-11 11:57 PM

pretty cool

RoberTastic 15-Dec-11 05:06 AM

you have a smooth voice

japetus 12-Dec-11 06:21 PM

I can't explain how bad I want this.

mantra3000 11-Dec-11 11:41 PM

That voice... Oh that voice...

TheKekelol 06-Dec-11 02:34 PM

it synthesizes the drum sounds which are editable. I don't think you can use samples. If you want to use samples check out the Elektron Machinedrum UW-1

THIS IS DOPE..YO MEEDILY..IT REALLY HAS 8 OUTPUT..6 INDIVIDUAL AND TWO MAIN OUTPUTS..PLUS HEADPHONE OUT..

2020TYBO 19-Nov-11 02:12 AM

..PRETTY MUCH..YOU CREATE YOUR OWN SOUNDS THROUGH THE PRESETS/VCO'S/TWEAKING ETC..IT DOES HAVE USB..SO MAYBE THROUGH THERE YOU COULD GET SOMETHING IN..BUT IT'S REALLY NOT FOR THAT..IT'S A DRUM SYNTHESIS MACHINE..NOT A SAMPLER..

tonykanemusic 18-Nov-11 02:22 AM

Lmfao. Dude just said buying a drum machine for 2 gs is the equivalent of buying a rolls royce. Lmfao. You can not find a destroyed Rolls for 2gs. Lol. I can't get over this. Evidence our education system passed a bunch of geniuses who could do anything they want in life.

TheOPTIMYSTICALbeats 16-Nov-11 04:14 AM

so can you import your own sounds into this or is it just its internal presets your able to use? ive never seen one of these before !

Meccanizm 09-Nov-11 06:59 PM

Roger Linn we need you to design plug ins maybe perhaps a squencer that would work with all daw platforms to start with please.

jnorth 05-Nov-11 10:59 PM

This really is a luxury drum machine. Investing in this is like investing in a Rolls Royce or a Porsche.

fermixx 25-Oct-11 01:52 AM

How big does my fortune have to be in order to have one of these in the studio?

meedily 12-Oct-11 05:45 AM

Sorry, I'm a bit dense. Just to be straight, it can play 32 different sounds in a project, but it can only play 6 at a time right? How does that work with the 6 outputs? Do certain sounds share a specific voice, so for example, the bass drum and shaker would steal from each other's polyphony?

ZachariasEinstand 10-Oct-11 10:51 PM

thanks for demonstration. well done must be sayed. It fits the best of all and much more. the e-mu pitch, mpc velocity, dmx punch and at least tr controls. of course without copyng 1:1. thats how i see it. I hope i'll get one.

Do you keep one for you sweeting up retirement

beefinator14 05-Oct-11 11:30 PM

youtube transcribe function makes any video funny

beefinator14 05-Oct-11 11:29 PM

heh sounds like even the clicker is analog

gavincurtis 04-Oct-11 10:44 AM

FINE.... I will take one if I you let me go on my way. ;)

Jannto 02-Oct-11 03:28 PM

jazzlicka 26-Sep-11 05:47 PM

I am itching to hear some demos from buyers should give 1 of these to Plaid or Wagonchrist to demo

invens1 25-Sep-11 05:01 PM

rhampton1914 23-Sep-11 03:52 PM

- I agree. let me pay it off in 12 months. Too much money to kick out all at once.

hooptyndablowfish 20-Sep-11 11:41 PM

Two words: 12 Months Same as Cash.

dalasv 18-Sep-11 10:58 AM
