A source has told Rolling Stone that Mick Jagger and Keith Richards will be meeting in December to discuss how the Rolling Stones will celebrate their 50th anniversary.

Speculation is growing as to whether the band might release a new album, or perhaps even go on tour.

Until now, the reaction from Mick when asked about the possibility of a 50th anniversary celebration has not been promising. The fact that Richards and Jagger have agreed to meet with regards to a celebration is a step forward though, considering that the two have not been on truly amicable terms for the last year.

Richards told Rolling Stone Magazine:

"I don't see why in the world the Stones can't put together some kind of show next year. I'd almost count on it. It doesn't have to be the whole spectacle bullshit again, but we've got to find our own way through this."

Jagger added "It is quite amazing when you think about it. Anything's possible."

It had been previously reported that Keith Richards was organising an 'open rehearsal' for November, although Mick had not commented on whether he would be attending.
