15 Watts Of Fender Tube Tone

Fender introduces Super Champ X2 combo, head and enclosure 16-Jan-12
15 Watts Of Fender Tube Tone

Fender has introduced the new Super Champ X2 Combo and Head and SC112 Enclosure. Here's all the details that they have supplied...

The Super Champ X2 combo amplifier brings your rehearsals and sessions to life by combining 15 watts of rich, dual-channel tube amp tone with modern extras such as versatile amp voicing and a wide selection of digital effects. It's simple, toneful and flexible, with easy computer connectivity that lets you custom tailor the amp's voicing and effects to your personal taste.

Made in Ensenada, Mexico, it features a single 10" Fender Special Design speaker, voicing knob for selection of 16 different amp types (tweed, Blackface, British, Hot Rod, metal and more), 15 effects with level control, dual-channel switching (footswitch optional), tap tempo control for precise delay time adjustment, ¼" line output, external speaker capability and USB output for speaker-emulated digital recording. Fender FUSE™ software (available as a free download) allows even more tonal versatility, with customization of amp voicing and effects defaults, effects parameters deep editing, and online access to free Fender community content.

The Super Champ X2 head offers great low-power tube tone in a compact design that presents the same great features as the combo version. It's designed for use with and mates perfectly with the new SC112 Enclosure (or other 8-ohm speaker enclosure), a compact and rugged Ensenada-built enclosure rated at 80 watts RMS (at 8 ohms) and featuring a single 12" Celestion® G12P-80 speaker for tight, defined tone and a closed-back design for increased bass response.

Pricing and Availability:
Super Champ X2 Combo: $399.00 - $499.99
Super Champ X2 Head: $399.99
SC112 Enclosure: $279.99

Gretsch white falcon! That thing is so beautiful and awesome! Wish i had $3000 to get one haha

slowpokerhino 08-May-12 01:43 AM

Rick is actually very very good. This video does not do him justice by any means.

faunchile 25-Apr-12 07:32 PM

why have such a horrible guitarist demonstrate this amp? Will buying it result in the production of shit awful music?

slaytallimaiden 23-Apr-12 06:01 PM

whats better the XD or X2?

slaytallimaiden 23-Apr-12 05:57 PM

does it work perfect with pedals?

thetrendkiller420 22-Apr-12 02:23 PM

ive yet to see anyone with both 1x12 cabs

CleverNameHere81 21-Apr-12 04:58 AM

small gigs maybe, can you hear over yourself over the drummer?

Bspice626 18-Apr-12 07:54 PM

Do you think this amp can play with a band / play shows (that arent mic-ed up)??

slowpokerhino 17-Apr-12 12:16 AM

I used to work with Rick at Zia records like 20 years ago! What a trip!

misterreality 16-Apr-12 04:31 PM

I love fender and the Super Champ, but these dudes demo aren't really doing this amp the best service.

tgv1975 15-Apr-12 08:18 PM

Why?

redxlounge 12-Apr-12 10:59 AM

Nice Jag!

jimdep1 08-Apr-12 12:47 AM

I'm sure UTUBE will have plenty of bedroom demo videos.

jimdep1 08-Apr-12 12:47 AM

I believe it does. These little champs are getting a little too pricey.

jimdep1 08-Apr-12 12:46 AM

I'm pretty sure the discontinued Johnson J-Station did. Find one going for cheap on EBAY. That's got to be one of the best values around for a good modeling unit.

journeyquest1 12-Mar-12 08:09 PM

I would rather see someone demo this in the bedroom where you know there is no doctoring.

Overwatch93 01-Mar-12 06:35 AM

does this replace the super champ xd?

gusmontiel2 28-Feb-12 07:35 PM

Dear Fender, I love this amp. There is only one thing stopping me...the lack of a HiWatt sound. Every mdeling amp has that 70s Marshall thing but no HIWATT tone. Please make the HIWATT tone an alternative sound through software so I can buy your amp.

mrcalloway1992 27-Feb-12 09:19 PM

HearingLossProvider 18-Feb-12 07:48 PM

I'd actually buy this. The head that is, and run it through a different cab with Vintage 30's. I had both the Vibro Champ and Super Champ xd at one point, and they're good amps but the speakers sucked. So, good on Fender for making a head version!

wabcamyandrey 31-Jan-12 09:25 PM

this guy rocks ;-)

Pickaxe1964 25-Jan-12 08:13 PM

You Fenders guys are way cool! Love the SC X2...gonna buy me one real soon and start saving up for the Machete! Thanks much Fender...you never get stale!!!

gmdinformation 25-Jan-12 12:30 AM

Of course you can compare them. I just did.

1Guug 24-Jan-12 10:30 PM

i would say that you can't compare these two. Both great amps i prefer the Bassman 59 because of the 4 10's

drpainlesss 24-Jan-12 09:18 PM

hello anyone know what song or riffs hes playing at 4:03 with gretsh guitar?

omegalen 24-Jan-12 08:40 PM

he means NOT digital shitty sounding like this, where you choose your heads and cabs on a computer, i agree with him.

RandomStevie 22-Jan-12 12:06 AM

what in the blue hell are you talking about? This is how music has been made since 1970.

gmdinformation 21-Jan-12 03:11 AM

I grew up with the orginal Champ. I've also owned the Champ XD for a couple of years now. The original is incredibly whimpy by comparison. This little monster can actually sound EXACTLY like a 59 Bassman at 1/4 the cost and without blowing the roof off the house with volume. In fact, I think it sounds better than the tweed Bassmans. It's the best sounding amp I've ever heard period.

OtherMisadventures 19-Jan-12 07:36 PM

.....what

flipside1974 18-Jan-12 11:16 PM

I am super excited about this new amp. I love the SuperChamp XD already, and thinking about a stack with a 12 inch cabinet AND Fuse Functionality, this is going to be right up my alley. I am really looking forward to some more demos and vids from Fender for this Amp. I'd love to see a vid with just 'rock' sounds, and one with 'blues' applications too.

gwugluud 18-Jan-12 01:40 PM

What bland, generic music...

sugeci 18-Jan-12 01:07 PM

Justin Bieber

SpearmintSixString 18-Jan-12 11:42 AM

It's music, there is no right or wrong

0Heavy0Metal0 17-Jan-12 02:46 PM

Ah. That would explain it. Thanks for the info :)

salmonline 16-Jan-12 08:52 PM

-Fender owns Jackson. So they figure it's all in the family. They own Gretsch, also. And EVH.

0Heavy0Metal0 16-Jan-12 05:02 PM

I think it a bit odd that a Fender comercial would have any other guitar besides their own. A Jackson V-2? It is a beautiful guitar, but out of character to say the least. And a word about the comment above saying that this is not how music is supposed to be made. I disagree. Whatever way works best is the best way. Some like having the whole band in the same room and all recording at once. Some add their tracks and pass it on to the next guy. No right or wrong, just preference.

Frank656ful 16-Jan-12 05:28 AM

what sacla or lick did play in 1:40?,

BlackAdderLXX 16-Jan-12 03:02 AM

Fender is just not worth the money any more. Classic business cycle, company gets big, cost cutting begins, quality/value drops, another company that's hungry comes on the scene, and repeat. If you want a good amp for the money - try Egnater. Good guitar for the money - G&L

redwhitegray748 15-Jan-12 08:49 PM

it's a demo, not a song

ChristianFS1 15-Jan-12 01:08 PM

Oh my - THAT STRAT !

projectno5 15-Jan-12 02:27 AM

fender, as a fan of your guitars and amps can i ask somthing. why dont you make a affordable champ head without all the digital doo dads?. price it at about $200 or less and i can garentee you'll sell em quick.

TheAlterKakers 14-Jan-12 08:54 PM

Wow, thanks for the super informative video showing all the great "new" features of the x2. NOT!!! I think I learned more about the guitars. Next time please us Koch so at least it'll be funny!!

darkerthebetter 14-Jan-12 07:23 PM

Hiring Shane Nicholas was the best thing fender has done in a long time. The fuse stuff is great, i use my gdec3 -15w everyday for late night practice and its such a lovely piece of kit. Having a player in charge of the amp division and not just some corporate guy is the way to go for sure !

PGm0nkey 14-Jan-12 07:10 PM

what do you mean??

acledfloyd 14-Jan-12 07:07 PM

That White Falcon sounded great.

Kangaxxter 14-Jan-12 04:35 PM

That Jackson solo is something else.

smacman68 14-Jan-12 03:18 PM

You are sooo wrong. This is a product demo! Nothing more. They did it in a studio enviroment to give it a certain feel and vibe.

smacman68 14-Jan-12 03:15 PM

If you would, send me a YouTube of a what sounds "good". I think this sounds great.

zeLudoo 14-Jan-12 02:56 PM

Sure it does !

pickandstring 14-Jan-12 01:42 PM

the jaguar with binding looks super awesome!
