WNAMM12: World's Smallest Polyphonic Tuner

TC Electronic introduces PolyTune Mini 19-Jan-12

Two years ago, TC introduced polyphonic tuning to the world and since then guitarists everywhere have welcomed this next-generation way of tuning with open arms. Now TC has revealed the world's smallest polyphonic tuner, PolyTune Mini, that will fit on any pedal board. TC say that, sometimes size actually does matter and in such cases, PolyTune Mini is the perfect solution as no other pedal tuner in the world will take up so little space, which means more room for other pedals.

TC's Guitar Product Manager Tore Lynggaard Mogensen, told Amped, "When designing PolyTune Mini we set a goal right from the start: We didn't want to compromise on features in any way. Despite shrinking it down to a 3rd of the size of the original PolyTune, our engineers did an absolutely incredible job taking all the cool stuff from PolyTune and shrinking it down to a tiny package. It really is the kind of product you have to hold in your hand to truly appreciate the size, build quality and attention to detail."

PolyTune Mini is based on the exact same technology as the original PolyTune, so like its bigger brother it shows the tuning state of all strings simultaneously by simply strumming the guitar, allowing guitarists to get back to playing in a matter of seconds.

Just like the original PolyTune, PolyTune Mini is among the most precise tuners in the world, tuning with +/- 0.5 cent precision in chromatic mode and +/- 1 cent accuracy in polyphonic mode. Also, it automatically switches between chromatic and polyphonic modes depending on whether all strings are strummed at once or each string is picked individually. Finally, PolyTune Mini features Drop-D and Capo modes as well as True Bypass for zero tone coloration and a super-bright LED display with the same amount of LEDs as the original PolyTune.

PolyTune Mini Main Features

  • Ultra-small Footprint – Will Fit on Any Pedal Board
  • PolyTune – Tune All Strings Simultaneously
  • +/- 0.5 Cent Tuning Accuracy
  • True Bypass w/ Silent Tuning
  • Super-bright LED Display
  • Up to 5 Semitones Flat Tunings
  • Drop-D and Capo Tuning

Both this and the original is true bypass.

journeyquest1 21-May-12 07:20 AM

Is this one truly true bypass or a tone sucker like the big brother? I hear the Korg is the real true bypass tuner?

tcelectronic 30-Apr-12 10:51 AM

It doesn't have a 'Bass Mode', no - but I'm almost sure you can use it with a bass too.. Try it out, perhaps? :)

jackbolha68 29-Apr-12 04:30 AM

Does it have the polyphonic bass mode, just like the original polytune?

tcelectronic 26-Apr-12 12:13 PM

I just noticed that it goes down to B - so C should be alright.

tcelectronic 26-Apr-12 12:12 PM

I'll forward that.

tcelectronic 11-Apr-12 01:07 PM

I'm not sure if the Polytune will show you all the strings in Poly mode, but I'm sure it'll go down and tune each individually.

Hotabich3 09-Apr-12 01:50 PM

Can I tune in Drop C as easy as in Drop D?

hellesoe321 18-Mar-12 03:02 PM

Okay tak. Det kunne i hvert fald være fedt og brugbart i mit tilfælde :)

tcelectronic 11-Mar-12 04:39 PM

Jeg tror det umiddelbart ikke. Men måske? Aldrig sige aldrig, har jeg hørt:)

hellesoe321 11-Mar-12 09:47 AM

tcelectronic 27-Feb-12 03:07 PM

I'm quite sure that the mono option is functional, but I doubt that the polymode works on bass, please try it out for yourself or contact support. :)

xhibitionism 24-Feb-12 08:23 AM

How about using Polytune with BASS? I have 4 and 5 strings bass, Can I strum my bass and still POLY tunable?

Anyway I want one....

qritique 16-Feb-12 02:41 AM

I guess the firmware upgrade for the Polytune v1, to enable the drop D tuning ;)

nolykk 14-Feb-12 05:17 AM

Strum Tune Rock !!! \m/

elklive 14-Feb-12 04:10 AM

Awesome pedal endorsed by HANZ AND FRANZ. THERE GONNA PUMP YOUR GUITAR UP!

AceFire117 12-Feb-12 05:39 PM

has it got a usb port like the other one ?

tcelectronic 09-Feb-12 03:38 PM

It's out - 80 € :)

LexovichUkraine 07-Feb-12 10:24 PM

I have 2 questions: WHEN and HOW MUCH??????

Zacpack91 06-Feb-12 02:23 AM

IT'S SO CUTE!

tcelectronic 03-Feb-12 08:54 PM

Dkvilvik 01-Feb-12 12:04 PM

Could you tune a 7 string with it to?

tcelectronic 26-Jan-12 02:49 PM

Firmware upgrade for what? :)

dragnetion 26-Jan-12 03:52 AM

I can't seem to find the firmware upgrade on the TC Electronic website, can someone lead me to the direct link? Much appreciated!

seanmaineguitargear 25-Jan-12 10:41 PM

When will it be available? and price?

krismael 25-Jan-12 07:44 PM

krismael 25-Jan-12 07:44 PM

in fact the classin polytune firmware update is available lettin all previous user to have the Drop D & Capo Tuning too....The only thing I miss now is an Open Tuning firware update but im sure there will be one available not too far from here.

krismael 25-Jan-12 07:36 PM

....correction "it works down to 5 semitones...not up"

krismael 25-Jan-12 07:35 PM

it is the tool you need....im 1 whole step down too right there im covered with the classic Polytune cuase it works up to 5 semitones...the Politune Mini works also on Drop D (or Drop C in your case)...so no isnt useless at all...i love mine

tcelectronic 24-Jan-12 12:50 PM

Good question - I think it'll work in chromatic mode, but you should either contact support or try it out before buying.

ronnydeluxeman 23-Jan-12 03:55 PM

So wait, I'm a whole step down on all strings and further I'm dropped C. Is this thing useless to stoners like us?

willbassyeahsgindo 21-Jan-12 06:57 AM

markozbartolly 20-Jan-12 12:28 PM

henfjel 20-Jan-12 12:48 AM

disturbtheworlds 19-Jan-12 11:29 PM

TheProPedalShop 19-Jan-12 06:25 PM

christopho95 19-Jan-12 06:17 PM

Valentineclock 19-Jan-12 04:59 PM

ViniciusMPepino 19-Jan-12 04:33 PM

You tune the first 6 in poly than the 7th on chromatic.I have 7strings to but this is still a great pedal

TomHappyapril 19-Jan-12 04:23 PM
