Microphones spend more time on your mouth by far than a toothbrush. Would you use someone else's. Been insisting to use my own 58Beta for years!! Sound crew just has to understand, not using theirs.
It's just plain funny, don't you get it? Plus it never tells you to buy their mic, I'm ordering a Blue mic after watching this.....
OWCH! Too true. I wipe mic's down with antiseptic between uses, and occasionally check for wear and muck in the pop screen, but I'm unusual that way, and I'm sure I forget sometimes.
Actually kind of lame to use scare tactics to buy your mic, AT. Just smell the mics at your gigs and you'll know just where they've been! More germs on your iPhone.

hah well that would kill the high end of the audio spectrum wouldn't it? Anyone know the absorption coefficient of latex? I'd guess you'd be down at least 6 dB in the 12kHz range and up. That would be an interesting experiment though.
This is why I am saying "SM58 is better". Just drop it in the bucket of beech solution after the show, than pool it out before the next one. Still gonna work fine ;-)

I mean, come on, even pool players bring their own sticks and they don't even put them in their mouths! Right?
Not to mention the over-time quality loss that mics suffer... this is pretty gross though.
Moral of the story: don't be a really greasy Robert Plant wannabe.
Scarily enough the guy at the local club we play at, rubs all the mics down with alcohol wipes between every band ....LOL. I know it really doesnt HELP but at least its on his mind and hes trying to help :)
