I first came across the epic percussionary prowess of Emre Ramazanoglu a few years ago - I was watching a live band in my home town, and the drummer was getting the most amazing sounds and performance out of what looked like a wooden box with drum shells bolted to it - the 'kit' was a 'GigPig' and the drummer, who I was compelled to go and congratulate, was Emre.
I didn't know at the time he was one of the most sought-after drummers & producers in the UK, and I haven't had a chance to see him play since, so when I heard he was demonstrating an electronic kit this year in the Yamaha hall, I had to check it out.
And now you can too, as I filmed the whole thing ;-]
The Yamaha DTX560K kit he was playing is not from their top of the range series, but frankly I was blown away by the sounds and playability - I'm not even a drummer, but now I want one! It'd be great to be able to bash away with headphones on, without disturbing the neighbours, and I like the idea of using it for MIDI triggering too.
Anyway, enough of my newly-kindled e-drum-lust... check out what Emre can do with it!

Emre is a fantastic performer. But to say that the Yamaha kit sounds great is a stretch.

Anyone know what the first song he played along with is?

What the hell? Couldn't you get someone that's GOOD to demo this rig?
:) Em... your killing it bro, I gotta admit, it makes me want to look at one of those kits! Love the "no dynamics" portion. Dope.

great playing, no doubt about that! the dynamics were questionable. i could hear very little change in volume between hard and soft hits on the drums/cymbals. On the real thing you can play from barely audible to painfully loud. Pretty common issue on electronic kits I guess.
