The Gadget Show LIVE is an interesting affair, you never know quite what you're going to come across when you turn a corner, and nestling between inflatable tents, BlueTootch speakers and death slides was a small stand showing something rather interesting...

The iTwin offers a system which acts 'like the two ends of a cable, without the cable' -also described as 'Secure & limitless USB device for remote file access and sharing'

When the two USB devices mate, they generate a high-security encryption code; when separated, they are used to create a secure direct connection between two computers across the internet.

The devices don't actually store any data onboard, but allow a secure pipe to be created between themselves - useful for road warriors and others who have to get sensitive data from one place to another, or who require access to a remote computer... err... remotely ;-]

Anyway, Brain Chamberlain can explain far better than I can...
