Line 6 has introduced two additions to the James Tyler Variax family. The new JTV-59P and JTV-69S guitars provide new pickup configurations and a variety of finish options, expanding the sonic capabilities of the James Tyler Variax family to meet the needs of even more guitar players.
Darrell Smith, Guitar Product Line Manager at Line 6, told Amped "We're excited to expand the James Tyler Variax line with additional models that will inspire even more guitarists to check out these amazing instruments. For the player who likes vintage P-90 soapbar pickups and is looking for a slightly lower-gain, warmer tone, the JTV-59P is a great choice. The JTV-69S offers the industry-standard three single-coil pickup configuration, which is ideal for guitarists who want that classic sound."
Here's the details in Line6's own words...
James Tyler Variax is the only guitar that can sound like an entire collection of vintage instruments. By combining industry-leading Line 6 digital modeling with boutique-style craftsmanship, each James Tyler Variax delivers 29 amazing instruments: 28 models plus the sound of a beautifully crafted electric guitar. Now, the new James Tyler Variax family provides even more tonal and aesthetic options.
The single-cutaway, set-neck JTV-59P features two P-90 soapbar pickups for a classic look and vintage tone that is ideal for classic edge-of-breakup blues, modern rock and more. JTV-59 is available in Gold Top or Black.
A nod to the traditional format, JTV-69S features an SSS pickup configuration complete with three vintage-voiced single-coil pickups that are loaded with alnico magnets and wound to James Tyler's specs. JTV-69S is available in Three-tone Sunburst, Black, Shoreline Gold or Olympic White.
Line 6 also offers a US Custom Series version of each new body style. By delicately balancing cutting-edge manufacturing technology with painstaking hand craftsmanship, the US Custom Series team creates instruments of incomparable beauty and feel.
