Gary Numan and John Foxx Chat

I'm sure a lot of you may have seen this one before, but it only just came to my attention. Two of the most influential electronic music pioneers, John Foxx - more out of the mainstream and Gary Numan  -more in the pop genre talk about  their music.

A great insight into their songwirting approaches and the gift of musical naivety when it comes to innovation.

Interesting ideas. Do you agree?

I love Gary's music. I also have tremendous respect for him, as a person and as an artist. He said that he has Aspberger's syndrome. I don't have it myself, but I certainly feel different from other humans. So, for me, the connection between us is stronger knowing that he feels a bit out-of-the-loop.

I am a straight male, so I never got into his super-ultra-mod look. I saw the Brit Synth Documentary, in which some girls were calling into some interview program on television, and they were all aflutter about his makeup. But even so, I still think that he was worlds ahead of the so-called "avant garde" establishment of his time.

Frankly, I think that he made his OWN time anyway.

Interesting chat but the incidental music drowned out half of what was said. As the sound quality was bad anyway maybe it would have been better to leave off the music?
