Courtney Love Denies Kurt Cobain Broadway Rumour

Rumours about a proposed Kurt Cobain Broadway musical are apparently not true, according to the Nirvana frontman's widow, Courtney Love.

This contradicts reports from music manager, Sam Lufti, who claims to be working with Love on a musical about the life of Kurt Cobain. But the Hole singer is adamant that the project is not going ahead, telling the Observer that "there will be no musicial".

This contradicts a statement from Lufti quoted in the music press, who is reported to have said:

"[We] are currently working on a possible motion picture or Broadway musical based on the Nirvana catalogue, based on her life and Kurt Cobain's."

Meanwhile, the broken and battered body of a bass guitar used by Nirvana bass player Krist Novoselic in the video for 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' will go up for sale at auction this month, expected to fetch up £20,000 at London auction house, Christie's.

The body of the bass guitar was recovered by a fan who appeared as an extra in the video.
