Its not often we big up our podcast guests to this extent, but last night at Glastonbury Festival, Chic rocked the house. I had a sneaking suspicion that it would be a seminal gig - its got all the ingredients, massive back catalog of classic disco records that have become a part of the international musical conciousness in the same way that the Beatles or Abba have done.
The Guardian's Alexis Petridis put it "Some of the greatest pop music ever made, expertly played by a ferociously well-drilled band. It was fantastic."
From what we can gather from the twittersphere and Facebook, they did indeed rock it. Although they were up against both Portishead and the Arctic Monkeys who also performed blinders at the same time on other stages.
Rich Hilton, keyboard player with the band and regular guest on our Sonic TALK podcast was there for his first Glastonbury experience, "I confess I love playing outside in the cold. I think it goes back to outdoor ice hockey as a kid."
