This just dropped in via the Novation Newsletter for July, and amongst the other news: new Vocoder Update for the UltraNova, Scratch Live MIDI mapping for Launchpad and in the studio with Teddy Riley - guess what gear he uses.. there was this item MiniNova Jam with Hot Sugar.
Hot Sugar's production techniques are a little unconventional in that he uses found sounds as the sonic source for most of the elements in his tracks. It was because of this that we decided to ask Hot Sugar to dig into the MiniNova's sound-processing and synthesis capabilities to see what it can do.
I'll say, this is a strange video with an awkward but comic atmosphere underpinned with quirky and brilliant soundtrack from Hot Sugar who has a little of the comic timing of Gene Wilder about him - which is apt as one of his most famous films was The Producers - though there's no sign of any Novation products in it..
Enjoy
