PlugInGuru.com has released MegaMacho Drums, a new sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt 5. They tell us that, with 2,000 drum samples, MegaMacho drums contains some very unique and exciting features for creating totally original drum grooves. A spokesperson had this to say,

"The sounds in MegaMacho Drums are created through complex sound manipulation and drum layering, resulting is some of the biggest drum sounds available for today's music production styles. With 34 unique drums kits, each containing 61 samples across the keyboard including 7 kicks and 8 snares, MegaMacho Drums provides almost endless options for creative grooves. It also contains 100 Kit Instruments, many of these are manipulated versions of the 34 drum kits - created with the powerful effects and sound processing tools, which are built into the Kontakt 5 user interface. There are also 20 Multi's which combine multiple drum kits to make even larger drum sounds or are multiple kits on different MIDI channels for more advanced music productions.

MegaMacho Drums also includes 100 MIDI-based Drum Groove files in music styles ranging from TRAP to DubStep, EDM, Pop and more. Of the 34 unique kits, 13 follow fairly strict map assignments for Kick, Snare, Side Stick, Claps, Toms, HiHats, Crash, Ride, Tambourine, Cowbell, Agogo, Shaker 1, Shaker 2, Clave, Triangles and Shaker 3 from the General MIDI note assignments.  This allows users to switch between these 13 kits to get tons of sonic variety while playing just one of the included grooves.

With updates scheduled for August 15th and October 15th, PlugInGuru.com plans for the number of MIDI-based grooves to grow to over 300 before the end of the year. These updates will be posted on PlugInGuru.com for free download.

The MegaMacho Drums Interface contains a selectable High Pass/Low Pass filter, 9 effects (Distortion, LoFi, Glitch, Compressor, Transient Designer and 3-band EQ), Amp, Filter and Pitch EG's and more. These controls allow users to quickly customize the samples, even on a per-sample basis. Users can also load in samples from any other Kontakt library and manipulate them with the MegaMacho Drums interface."

MegaMacho Drums works with Kontakt 5.2 and the free Kontakt 5 player. Purchase includes a serial number for authorization.
