Nile Rodgers Working On New Material With Disclosure

Chic guitarist Nile Rodgers has announced that he is working on a new collaboration with UK electronic duo, Disclosure.

Rodgers took to Twitter to announce the collaboration:

"Gonna sleep from 7 to 9 then another KICK A$$ session with @Disclosure. They are the REAL F**ing DEAL."

Disclosure have already had a string of hits this year, and the brother act, consisting of Guy and Howard Lawrence, are said to be excited at working with disco legend Nile Rodgers.

Singer Sam Smith is also involved in the sessions. Smith told Clash magazine:

"[Rodgers] just played his guitar while we sat there dribbling with happiness.

"Nile was explaining how Chic was seen as underground music and how some people just didn't get it. So I guess that was a lesson on sticking to your guns, and I suppose overall he was telling me and the Disclosure boys to base our music on the reaction of the fans, instead of commercially orientating our music.

"For me, it was just crazy to be in the company of people that I have looked up to my whole life. It's been very, very surreal."

Nile Rodgers has enjoyed a renaissance recently after his guest appearances on the new Daft Punk album. Most famously, he played on 'Get Lucky', the first single from Random Access Memories.

Recently it came to light that the song shared the same chord pattern and similar melody to a song recorded four years ago by a Korean guitarist.
