Soundiron has announced Phonautograms v2.0, plus a bonus sleighbell library at a great holiday price while it lasts. Here's the details in their own words...
This historic instrument is drawn from some of mankind's earliest known sound recordings, drawn from archival source carefully restored by First Sounds. Based on inventor Édouard-Léon Scott de Martinville's 1860 "Gamme de la Voix" vocal scale recording, this collection features playable vintage chromatic sustains, as well as newly crafted modern sound-designed creative ambient and electro-percussive content.
For the new version we've expanded the sample content by tenfold and added a custom Kontakt user interface that features automatable dynamic volume swelling, note attack, note release, sample start offset and pitch transposition. We also added nearly 200 MB of new ambient material crafted from the source in the form of 31 synths, evolving soundscapes and dark atmospheres. We also created a variety of newly resynthesized percussive hits and FX from the source, building a unique kit with 41 electro kicks, snares, hats, toms and fx. Our custom DSP effects rack is also featured for Kontakt, featuring customizable distortion, EQ, filter, delay and much more. The convolution reverb effect contains 70 custom-recorded environmental and FX impulse responses.
The Kontakt presets require the full retail version of Kontakt 5.1 and aren't supported by the free Kontakt Player and Libraries rack. However, we've also expanded universal SFZ support for all of the new content, so anyone can use it. You'll enjoy most of the same playability and GUI control over most parameters, when used with the excellent and free Sforzando sampler plugin by Plogue (VST, AU, RTAS).
It's available now for 50% off for a limited time, at the ridiculously low price of only $5! All new Phonautograms purchases and upgrades by Dec. 25th will also receive a free copy of our special edition 283 MB Sleighbells multisample library. Existing owners of the original 1.0 version should be on the lookout for a special email within the next 3 days with info on how to get an even deeper upgrade discount on all of the new content and features.
