NAMM 2014 - Dave Smith Instruments, who released the Prophet 12 polysynth last year, are showing their desktop version. This features the exact same  voice archiecture and features but without the full synth panel. You can find the full details on this elsewhere, but for the sake of brevity, I'll just post this interview we did with Dave Smith himself.

Available imminently at $2199

anybody else register the fear in Dave's face when the Tempest was mentioned?

^ More hesitation than fear. I think he disagreed with the comparison.

Havent seen a lot of interviews with Dave yet, but he seems like a nice and intelligent guy. I recently bought a tempest and I can indeed see the similarities. This p12 module is definitely on my want list.. Although the full keyboard version is also pretty cool, more knobs.

I like this synth but not my cup of tea. I think I will stick to Mopho X4 and Prophet 08. There's something I love about analog oscillators.
