Tight integration with the new DAW      16/05/14

Last week we had a visit from Nektar product manager Tim Chandler - he's been involved in creating MIDI controllers for many years and has poured his experience into Nektar's range of controllers.

While he was here, we shot a series of in-depth looks at how deep the integration of Panorama is with the DAW. We start off with a look at how the Nektar Panorama P4 works with Bitwig - the new kid on the DAW block.

Tim takes us through the features of the keyboard and the way it works with Bitwig.

I like the fact they take the time to make it work with every daw seamlessly.

I'm still going to wait a little longer hoping they update the GUI and install higher resolution displays. Don't care if they make them twice as expensive. A good controller should be worth it. There're already to much cheap crappy controllers out there yet very little good ones that are build to last, have the functionality that works seamlessly with your plugs and daw of choice and can take a beating. Step one: no more plastic please.

As a Live user, I hope his comment that they are working on Live integration results in a release soon.

I find the general UI/GUI and physical look of this controller so ugly. Decisions like a black background appears so difficult to see. Functionally it appears great but generally controllers are just so fugly.
