Product specialist Dom Sigalas dropped into our place to show us some of what the Yamaha MOXF6 can do.

Based on the flagship Motif sound engine and capabilities, minus the sampling, its got a lot of power under the hood. The Motif engine has given Yamaha many years of stirling service and the MOXF doesnt break any traditions here.

The Yamaha MOXF6 is a lightweight in terms of portablility, which seems to be all the rage at the moment, gigging and lugging around is positvely encouraged with the weight of just over 7KG. The MOXF6 has a 61 key, synth action keyboard with no aftertouch.

Add to that the solid core of usable sounds, backed with a 8 insert effects plus Master FX and EQ, USB audio and MIDI interface, plus the optional Flash board (up to 1GB samples instantly available) you get a lot of instrument.

The MOXF6 can deliver plenty of stock sounds (check out the pianos), pads and orchestral as well as being capable of more deep synthesis. It has up to 8 oscillators per voice you know. I did review the MOX a few years back and was pretty impressed with the range of sounds.

Features:

  • AWM3 synth engine with 128 voice polyphony
