The Music Producers Guild is hosting another of its hugely popular Q Time events at the Seven Dials Club in London's Covent Garden on July 15th 2014.

Loosely based on the BBC's Question Time format, MPG Q-Time events are designed to stimulate discussion about the many issues affecting the music industry and those who work in it. Four successful Q Time events have been held in the past and the MPG anticipates strong demand for this fifth event, which will once again be chaired by BBC 6Music presenter, chart-topping recording artist and song-writer, Tom Robinson.

MPG Executive Board member Mick Glossop says: "We've obviously hit on a popular format with these events because they are always incredibly well attended. The questions asked by the audience are very incisive and generate plenty of debate amongst the panelists. As an organization for recording professionals, we are delighted to play a part in getting producers, engineers, recording artists and record label personnel together so that we can discuss important issues affecting all our working lives – and, in some cases, our future incomes."

The panel for Q Time 5 includes Kerry Harvey-Piper, manager and owner of Red Grape Music; Jon Webster, CEO of The Music Managers Forum; musician and artist Laura Kidd; producer Tommy D who has worked with KT Tunstall, Corinne Bailey Rae, Catatonia and Right Said Fred, and Radiohead's Ed O'Brien, who is also a founding director of the Featured Artists Coalition.

Those attending are encouraged to submit questions in advance. In the interests of spontaneity, none of the questions are revealed to the panel before the event gets underway.

Details of the debate at previous Q Time events are available on the MPG website where Full Members can also listen to audio recordings of each event.
