IK Multimedia has announced the latest versions of GrooveMaker 2, its loop-based groove making app for iPhone and iPad, and DJ Rig for iPad, its mobile DJ app. Both now feature iOS 8 compatibility and native plug-and-play support for iRig Pads, IK's new ultra-portable MIDI groove controller. In addition, GrooveMaker 2 now allows real time inter-app audio routing through Audiobus 2. IK says that the new versions of GrooveMaker 2 and DJ Rig for iPad are the most advanced released so far, and both will help DJs and digital musicians take their mobile performances to the next level. Here's their description of the new features...

Optimised for iOS 8
GrooveMaker 2 and DJ Rig for iPad are both now fully optimised for iOS 8 and Apple's latest generations of mobile devices. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users will be able to take advantage of their device's increased screen size while cueing loops and grooves with GrooveMaker 2. When it comes to the new iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3, GrooveMaker 2 and DJ Rig for iPad users will be able to enjoy the speed and power that their new devices allow. And all GrooveMaker 2 users will be able to take advantage of its new support for Audiobus 2 in iOS 8, which allows for inter-app audio routing between compatible music apps for wildly inventive sonic combinations.

Grooves to go
The biggest leap forward with the two new versions comes in the form of native plug-and-play support for IK's iRig Pads MIDI groove controller. Featuring 16 velocity-sensitive, backlit multicolour rubber pads, it gives users a new tactile way to get creative with their favourite apps while working "outside the box". When GrooveMaker 2 is paired with iRig Pads, it automatically provides two separate modes, Groove Mode and Launch Mode. These customise the pads, knobs and sliders to let users control groove length, browse through loops, tweak effects, trigger Randomixes and a whole lot more without having to touch their device's screen.

Digital decks
DJ Rig for iPad also natively supports iRig Pads, and when the two are paired together DJs can take control like never before. iRig pads can be used with each of DJ Rig for iPad's different sections to allow for tactile hardware responsiveness while syncing and crossfading tracks, triggering samples, adding effects and more. With iRig Pads and DJ Rig for iPad, users now have a powerful portable DJ setup that can be taken anywhere.

Pricing and Availability:
The latest versions of GrooveMaker 2 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch and DJ Rig for iPad are available now on the App Store as free updates for existing users and as either free or paid apps for $9.99/€8.99 and $19.99/€17.99 for new users, respectively.
