Gibson Offers New Version Of Firebird 7

The 'reverse-body' Firebird has been around since the early '60s but now Gibson says that the Firebird 7 takes the elegance of top-flight model and adds fatter, creamier tones with a triple of full-sized '57 Classic humbuckers. They tell us that the original neck-through-body, 9-ply construction with mahogany body wings establishes a solid core for optimum resonance and sustain, which translates to everything from thumping rock crunch to singing, throaty blues tones through these great PAF-style pickups. A Lyre vibrato tailpiece enhances both looks and sonic versatility, while the reversed six-a-side headstock carries Steinberger gearless tuners for optimum precision.

A spokesperson said, "Add a one-piece rosewood fingerboard with acrylic block markers, traditional Firebird pickguard with phoenix graphic, and wrap it all in a luscious Blue Mist finish, and this is a bird you won't want to cage."
