Maulabs MidiBlob is an iPad plug-and-play performance-oriented multi-touch synthesizer controller. Maulabs says that, by manipulating a set of 3D scenes (the blobs), MidiBlob can control your synth sound to a depth that cannot be reached with traditional controllers.

A spokesperson said, "Exploring the synthesizer capabilities become intuitive and performing with the sound itself become possible, and easier..Graphical feedback keeps you in touch with what you are doing and where you are in your sound space."

Version 2 is a major release adding many new functionalities and an improved workflow.

Highlights:

  • multiple graphic blobs controlling more aspects of the sound
  • in application settings, for each blob and globally for the application
  • multi mode support
  • plug and play, automatic synchronisation between the Blofeld and MidiBlob
  • smooth interaction without any abrupt sound changes, ever
  • Currently available for the Blofeld, MidiBlob is in development for the Waldorf Rocket, the DSI Mopho and the Nord Lead A1

MidiBlob requires and is based on iOS8; it runs on any iPad that runs iOS8, with any Core MIDI compatible MIDI interface.

Pricing and Availability:
$4.99 at the app store.
