Sample developer Impact Soundworks has released ReForged: Cinematic Metallic Sound Design for Native Instruments KONTAKT and WAV formats. They say that, created by sound designer Ali Lacey, the library features a deep-sampled array of found metal instruments recorded in the Welsh countryside. These natural sounds are accompanied by an extensive collection of transformed and processed material and a powerful synthesis engine. Here's the story in Impact Soundworks' own words...

ReForged is the third library in Impact Soundworks' sound design series, which includes the critically-acclaimed Juggernaut: Cinematic Electronic Sound Design and Celestia: Heavenly Sound Design libraries as well. These virtual instruments are designed with film, TV, video game and media composers in mind, offering a large collection of modern presets with easy editing and customization.

"From the moment we got the raw material for ReForged, I've been using it all over my music," said Andrew Aversa, award-winning composer and lead developer at Impact Soundworks. "With thousands of samples and all the tweaking controls, the creative possibilities are endless. It's really inspiring to use."

The sounds of ReForged are categorized broadly into "Natural" and "Designed" folders, with each being subdivided further. Natural instruments include gas canisters, shop machinery, tin and iron bathtubs, various gardening implements, kitchenware and much more, all played with various techniques and with a spectrum of dynamics. The Designed sounds range from cinematic impacts, atmospheres, and textures, to hundreds of sliced rhythmic loops/beds, tonal sounds, special effects and beyond.

To support a multitude of workflows and for the benefit of sound designers, ReForged is presented with both Kontakt patches and 1,900+ raw WAV files. The Kontakt interface offers a full rack of FX, an arpeggiator/gate, filters, EQ, envelopes, and an internal preset system with dozens of templates, while the raw WAVs can be loaded directly into any other DAW or sampler.

Pricing and Availability:

ReForged: Cinematic Metallic Sound Design is available now at Impact Soundworks for a discounted intro price of $119 (list price: $139).

Owners of Juggernaut or Celestia get an additional $20 off as a crossgrade discount.
