NAMM 2015: New Moog Modulars With Gordon Reid

System 55, 35 and 15 available in limited runs      21/01/15

Buying Choices

Everyone went kind of crazy when the Emmerson Moog Modular was first unveiled, and the work done on recreating this beast of a modular would seem wasteful if there was no other models to be released in it's wake. The blogosphere was right on this one, and now we have this limited run of full recreations of the classic modular systems.

First question - can I have a custom modular with my choice and nuber of individual modules?  Answer: not at this time - remember that many components have been specially sourced from new/old stock by an army of special Moog component hunting elves (well in my imagination). Indeed, some parts (coloured back lit switches) were even custom 3D printed for the purpose.

Now clearly, if you were expecting some cost cutting excercise then you arent the target market for this, but given that the price range from $15k for the System 15 to $35k for the 35 and you get the picture.

Moog thought it would be fun to hook us up with Gordon Reid, for our look t the new systems - which is great for us as Gordon is a world renowned synth specialist and regular writer for Sound On Sound,  who had been given the opportunity to take a long and detailed look at the new synths.
