We dropped by the Catalinbread booth at NAMM 2015 to see FOUR of their new pedals for this year.
The one we were most excited about is the Catalinbread Antichthon - which is a little difficult to explain as far as pedals go.
Antichthon is the name the Ancient Greeks gave to (what they thought) was a mirror version of Planet Earth on the other side of the sun.
So what Catalinbread have tried to do is make a pedal which bears its name, and lives up to other-worldly status.
It's a fuzz circuit which behaves completely differently depending on input level, so you can make it sound like a tremolo pedal, or you can make it sound like a malfunctioning speedboat (in a good way, of course).
But it's way more than just a fuzz pedal or a tremolo pedal.
You really, really have to hear it for yourself. The first time we'd heard it in action was actually while filming this video, and you can see how much we got into it.
