Audio Assault has released XCTR, a multi band harmonic exciter based on their Head Crusher saturation. They tell us that it includes 4 bands that can be independently driven and mixed into the signal. Each band in XCTR has 5 selectable saturation modes, that can be independently mixed and matched between each band.

A spokesperson said, "Harmonic exciters can give a shine to certain frequencies in the mix. They can be used on drums to make the cymbals shine, bring up the kick drum on a stereo bus, bring some life back into a dull instrument, or even some shine to the whole mix."
