Avid tells us that Pro Tools 12, previewed at the NAMM show, is now available. They say that it offers more flexibility, so you can access the industry standard in more ways than ever.

A spokesperson told us, "The flexibility of ownership is a model we established last year with the launch of Media Composer 8, now you can now create with a low-cost Pro Tools subscription, own the software or a complete system outright. Today's release also brings a host of improvements under-the-hood, including many I/O setup improvements as well as in app plug-in purchases."

As usual, with any major change to Pro Tools pricing or structure, the user community tends to get up in arms - no one it seems likes change. You only have to check the Youtube comments below to get a taste of this..
