Maulabs describes MidiBlob as an iPad plug and play performance-oriented multi-touch synthesizer controller. They say that, by manipulating a a set 3D of scenes (the blobs) with a set of very intuitive interaction, MidiBlob controls your synth sound to a depth that cannot be reached with traditional controllers.
A spokesperson said, "Exploring the synthesizer capabilities becomes intuitive and performing with the sound itself becomes possible, and easier. Graphical feedback keeps you in touch with what you are doing and where you are in your sound space."
MidiBlob for the Mopho is a specific version for the DSI Mopho Synthesizer, based on MidiBlob Version 2; most of the Mopho parameters can be controlled by the touch of a finger.
Currently available for the Waldorf Blofeld and the Waldorf Rocket as well as the DSI Mopho, MidiBlob is in development for the Nord Lead A1.
MidiBlob requires and is based on iOS8; it runs on any iPad that runs iOS8, with any Core MIDI compatible MIDI interface.
The video shows a short demo of the MidiBlob for the Mopho application in a musical context: A short composition where the Mopho makes the bass line, the lead is a Nord Lead A1 and the drums are the Arturia Spark Vintage. MidiBlob is used to slowly change the bass sound.
