Skinwalker Ridge by atomicshadow

Atomic Shadow uses a combination of contemporary and vintage electronics to create his tracks, he's also responsible for some extremely atmospheric Kontakt based instruments - check em out.

This track was performed at KnobCon, 2014, in Chicago last September, taken from the second Atomic Shadow album, Creatures From Beyond.
Inspired by a friend's weird tales from the Uinta Basin in Utah, where local Native Americans tell stories of these evil, shape shifting beings. This area has also been a center for UFO sightings for years.

The performance rig includes:
Two transistor function generators, 2 guitars effects units, an EMW-200 mini-synth, a Korg KP2, Moog ring modulator and the essential Strymon El Capistan tape echo pedal. There is an SP-404 sampler standing in for tape loop machines. The idea was to bring the essence of my studio out in to the real world. Keeping all of the elements under control, in real time, was very difficult. Like all live performance, the possibility of total disaster was never far off.
