Ever wondered what goes on behind closed doors of the people who make the synthesizers and electronics we consume? In our new series Synth Works - we asked manufacturers to send us a selection of shots of their workshops/workspaces so we can see.

This weeks it's Hex Inverter and in his own words heres how it started for him:

"I met this guy on the public bus I took to high school every morning when I was about 15. He noticed I had a Skinny Puppy patch on and we started talking because of it. I was learning about synthesizers (mostly software) at the time, and he began to tell me about his modular synthesizer he built. He told me the basics of synth DIY and explained how he ordered PCBs and parts, put together a module or two sometimes on weekends, and how he had built this enormous modular synthesizer. I picked up a lot of practical electronics skills in shops class during the same time, so I kind of decided then and there that I would have to get in to synth DIY at some point in my life. It just wasn't until later that I finally had the resources to do it."
