Prism Sound tells us that, due to popular demand, they are launching a new series of Mic to Monitor free educational seminars and workshops this autumn, with events taking place in key cities in the USA and the UK.

Targeted at music production students, hobbyists and professionals, Mic to Monitor aims to dispel the many myths surrounding the recording process. The events answer those all-important questions such as what makes great gear great, what does it take to become a successful and in demand audio engineer, how do recording professionals tackle different aspects of their productions and how is a hit sound achieved?

Each seminar features presentations from recording professionals who will answer audience questions on recording techniques. There will also be the opportunity to demo and win recording equipment.

Graham Boswell, Sales Director of Prism Sound, had this to say, "We introduced Mic to Monitor seminars as a vehicle for recording professionals to share their knowledge and experience with the next generation of audio engineers. The music recording industry is constantly evolving and there are always new tricks and techniques to be learned, even by people who are already making a successful living in this field. We are delighted that Mic to Monitor has become such a successful brand and this latest tour will bring the event to an even wider audience across two continents."

Mic to Monitor 2015 kicks off in the USA with the first event taking place on September 12th at Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana, in conjunction with the AES which is supporting it as part of the AES Student Summit. The tour then moves to Chicago, Illinois on September 14th, Detroit, Michigan on September 15th and Cleveland, Ohio on September 16th.

Guest speakers already confirmed for the USA dates include Edward J "UK" Nixon of the Grammy Award winning J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. Nixon will give an insight into his career trajectory and demonstrate his approach to the workflow, mixing style and processes.

There will also be presentations from Prism Sound's Graham Boswell and from representatives from pro audio brands Audio Technica and PMC Speakers, which are supporting the US dates. These will cover hardware design and optimizing your studio setup, converter design and clocking, microphone techniques and speakers and acoustics.

In October 2015, the action switches to the UK with events planned at Huddersfield University on the 1st; Birmingham Conservatoire on the 6th; University of Westminster in London on the 8th; University of the West of England in Bristol on the 13th; Leeds Beckett University on the 15th; S.S.R Manchester on the 22nd; LIPA in Liverpool on the 27th and Southampton Solent University on the 29th. Full details of all speakers will be announced shortly on the Prism Sound website
