Un Chien Andalou is a short surrealist film by director Luis Buñuel and artist Salvador Dalí. Martin Stimming is a house producer from Hamburg.

Throughout the first few days at Studio Stekker I had noticed that Martin Stimming had generally kept himself locked in a studio. It was clear that he was working on something for his performance rather than just soaking up the atmosphere at Kytopia.

So on the Wednesday morning before his performance I visited Martin to find out exactly how he was going to score Un Chien Andalou.

Martin was using a minimal setup of an Octatrack, a RHYTM, an OP-1, a Juno 106 and some delay. Which is partly what he will be using in his new live shows as of next year.

His performance was extremely thoughtful, adding a melancholic and emotional feel to the piece whilst retaining the surrealist and sketchy nature of the visuals.
