The latest of the Roland clan to get a reboot in the form of a plugout is the Roland System-100 a legendary semi-modular monosynth from 1975.
The plugout has the features of the original Model 101 synth and also the Model 102 expander units. Although unfortunately it doesn't emulate the System-100 speakers...
Using the Analog Circuit Behaviour used on previous plugout synths the System-100 recreates the intricate delicacies of the original device and designed for both the System-1 and 1-m.
The combination of the Model 101 and the Model 102 Expander gives you two VCOs and two LFOs to work with, as well as Sample and Hold, Ring Modulation and a Noise Generator. Obviously the modular routing capabilities of the System-100 also increase the chance for experimentation, with no risk of blowing anything up!
The System-100 plugout also features a new 14x15 patchbay similar to an EMS synthi patchbay. You also obviously have the convenience of saving and recalling presets!
