8-Bit Guy has just uploaded video explaining the progression of music formats from 8-bit roots. Its an interesting journey - well if you find this kind of thing interesting - which we do.

The journey starts with the Commodore 64 and Nintendo NES game consoles with many eaxmples from yesteryear and through the 9 voice AdLib card which used the Yamaha YM3812 sound chip - I'm guessing Yamaha were doing very nicely thanks during the 80s as many, many soundcards and home keyboards used this chip.
