Some of you may not know who Dave Rossum is, but in 1971 he was the founder and driving force behind Emu. For 20 years he was Emu's Primary Technologist and Chief Wizard. Designing the Emu modular system, the Audity computer-controlled polyphonic analogue synth, the Emulator I, the Drumulator, SP12 and SP1200. He also designed the chips that were used as the primary DSP in many of Emu's Products.

Last year after an interview in Amazona.de details emerged of Dave's plans to make a mark on the Eurorack world. And here is the first in what we believe will be a line of Eurorack modules. The Evolution ladder filter.

Based on the 1100 module from the original Emu Modular which used a Moog ladder as its core element.

"In launching Rossum Electro-Music, I chose a new implementation of the 1100 filter as the first all-analog module for our Eurorack offering, based on its unique and outstanding audio characteristics. I re-engineered the basic 1100 core using modern available surface-mount components and then added a number of features to the original 1100 design"

Added features include, Q CV inputs, multiple FM ins, multiple poles with CV ins. Read more about it here.
