Laurent Bernadac, its creator, has been in touch to tell us about the 3Dvarius, a 3D printed and electric violin. The 3Dvarius is a high-end electric violin created by professional 3D printing technology.

Laurent had this to say, "During the last months, we realized a lot of researches and studies to finalize the 3Dvarius, and today our 3D printed and electric violin is now available on Kickstarter. Our objective is to raise 50,000 €, to launch the production and to put the 3Dvarius in the hands of world's violinists. The first limited edition named 'Pauline' will be available exclusively on Kickstarter."

Unique advantages of the 3Dvarius:

  • The violin is 3D printed in one single piece, all the sound signals travel freely in its body (no resonance loss in the joints)
  • Its weight distribution is optimized to reduce the weight felt by the violinist
  • The 3Dvarius is based on the model of a real Stradivarius
  • We use a professional 3D printing technology to preserve the violin body and to ensure proper resistance to the strings' pressure.
