Kurzweil has announced a major upgrade to their Forte Stage Piano. Here's the story in their own words...
As the most advanced keyboard to ever bear the Kurzweil logo, the Forte Stage Piano offers a fully-weighted, hammer-action, velocity-sensitive keybed, an industry-leading selection of Flash-Play® piano and organ sounds, a powerful FX engine and Kurzweil's legendary V.A.S.T editing (Variable Architecture Synthesis Technology) made easy through a widescreen color display.
Now, with Kurzweil's new OS 2.01 Upgrade, Forte and Forte 7 artists can load up to 3.375 gigabytes of user samples to non-volatile flash memory. Samples may include Kurzweil's great variety of Flash-Play® pianos, organs and other sounds along with WAVE, AIFF and third-party* user samples. Improved "Surf-n-Select" sound navigation allows multiple object selection and upgraded V.A.S.T. editing provides 32 layers per program with a host of DSP tools and individual signal paths. Players can use 16 new arpeggiators along with new tempo-based FX algorithms and can now apply Forte FX to external audio sources via the 1/8" audio input while enjoying smoother FX transitions when notes are sustained.
Pricing and Availability:
Forte owners can download the new OS 2.01 Upgrade, free of charge, from the Kurzweil website. Details of the OS's many new features and improvements are included in the Release Notes with the download.
