Ruismaker means 'noise generator' in Dutch. The original Ruismaker started its existence as a hardware drum machine, but is now available as an Audio Unit Instrument for mobile DAWs and sequencers. Just released is Ruismaker FM a sibling to the first iOS Ruismaker and designed for people who want to design their own percussion sounds from scratch. Here's the details from developer, Bram Bos.
Based on a clever FM synth model, Ruismaker FM is engineered to let you create a vast bandwidth of different sounds from scratch. From kicks and snares to alien sci-fi effects, growling bass sounds, zaps, blibs, chirps, wows, hits and hats. Easy to learn, fun to master. Ruismaker FM makes for a great companion for Ruismaker (and shares its signature sound character), but also holds her own as a versatile drum synth. Create your own sounds, or use included presets as a starting point (and easily share your sounds using the Patch Sheet feature). It works conveniently inside your sequencer and Audio Unit Instrument hosts so you can focus on making electronic music without app switching and screen juggling like before.
*IMPORTANT* Audio Units are plug-ins that need a compatible host app to work. Ruismaker FM has been tested to work beautifully with Steinberg Cubasis, Apple Garageband, Modstep and AUM.
