Patrick Detampel was on hand all week at Studio Stekker to help people navigate the minefield of modular synths he and Mark Verbos had brought with them.

We grabbed Patrick for a chat on some of the underrated modules of the Doepfer A-100 system. One of the great things about modular synths is that although a module may have a particular function because it is modular it can be used in different ways to create a different function or use.

In this video we used the Doepfer A-110 oscillator and some general utility modules to create some much more interesting waveforms than the classic waves.

Patrick's knowledge on modulars is kind of unrivalled, he knows so many different tricks for working with a modular system, so it wa really great to be able to grab some time with him to part with some of his knowledge.
