Not content with the bombshell that Behringer want to work on a Moog Model D type clone, Uli Behringer has also posted on Gearslutz.com forums - his preferred  method of announcement. Fortunately, its on a new thread rather than the longest thread in Gearslutz history on the DeepMind 12.

Recent posts seem to confirm a number of things:

Here:

We have 4 synthesizer development teams simultaneously working on 20 synths, drum machines etc..

We'll be creating both innovative new synths as well as reviving classics. We're all in and the teams are on fire.

Exciting times!

Uli

And more recently that they are looking seriously at making the classic ARP 2600, and the Oxford Synthesizer Company OSCar n this post

Aside from the Oscar synth, I can confirm that the 2600 is high on our priority list as it is a truly remarkable synth; I always wanted one for myself:-)

We are currently trying to acquire an original unit for benchmark purposes.

We hope we will be able to show you a first design draft within the next few weeks, while we're studying the circuit diagrams to provide you with an estimated retail price.

Once ready we will reach out to you to see if there is enough interest.

Uli

This seems to indicate that there is a certain amount of public crowdsourcing for opinion. If there is enough interest then we may go ahead.

It an interesting strategy, high impact news, whilst making no commitment whatsoever. So I guess that means its over to you - comment away and we may end up seeing these become a reality. What is clear is that Behringer have the personnel, the capacity and the general will to make these things happen.

This is going to run and run. Here's a link worth bookmarking - its to Uli's latest posts on the Gearslutz forum.
