We were down at the Synthesea event in Hastings yesterday and caught up with Tom Carpenter, the guy behind Analogue Solutions - who are known form making authentic, vintage sounding analogue synthesizers. The new Fusebox is a 3 VCO stand-alone semi modular affair with the State Variable filter Analogue Solutions use in many of their instruments. In addition it has a 16 step arpeggiator, Patternator - a four note, 8 gate step sequencer, a preset transposer, making it quite flexible for performance of simple note and or CV sequencing. Additionally, there's a MIDI to CV interface with a nifty Note 0 clock mode - you can send it series of MIDI note 0 (C-2) to drive the clock.

Whilst not the ideal environment to test a synth, I can confirm that it does sound good. With plenty of depth and modulation possibilities.

Tom tells us the Fusebox will be shipping in a couple of months with a target price of around £900 (+VAT) though this is not set in stone (I did have to press him for a price), it does represent a decent price for an Analogue Solutions instrument. There's also a new range of stomp box format effects and a small mono synth expected too.
